      • Data is available when Sunsynk is down.

For anyone thinking of connecting their Sunsynk Inverter to Home Assistant.

Here are the options on how to get the data into Home Assistant and why there is not a straightforward how-to document.

Home Assistant can talk directly to the cloud and pull the sunsynk data from sunsynk.net, this will be impacted when sunsynk.net is down or you lose your internet connection.

Home Assistant can get data from the inverter RS-485 port, this data is always available and more frequent.

If you go down the RS-485 route you can use ESP32 or Modbus to USB

For Modbus to USB, you then have options of Home Assistant Sunsynk Addon or Solar Assistant.

I have not broken down the sub-options of each choice which can be many and could cost between £25 to £250.
